Avengers 2: The Age of Ultron is officially under production. The cast of the third largest grossing film in history have reunited to start work on the sequel to The Avengers.

Production on the film kicked off with the cast and crew heading to Johannesburg, South Africa, for the first two weeks of filming, MTV reported.

Gauteng Film Commission chief executive Phindile Mbanjwa spoke about how thrilled Johannesburg was to have Marvel arrive in their city. "We're thrilled that Marvel Studios is bringing a major motion picture project to Joburg" said Mbaniwa.

Fans are looking forward to Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye are all returning for the sequel. It was recently announced that Paul Bettany has been casted as Vision in the sequel, Forbes reported.

Even though some details have been released around The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron some questions are left for fans to wonder about.

The film is scheduled to be released in the United States on May 1, 2015.

Marvel is working on a variety of projects including more Captain America films and the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy.
