Benjamin Scott, 44, of Philadelphia, was arrested for threatening to kill former president, George W. Bush. After pronouncing his love to the 43rd president’s oldest daughter, Barbara, Scott was arrested in Manhattan on Friday for suspension of violating federal law that makes it a crime to threaten any president or former president according to the L.A. Times .
After yelling “Bush will get his,” as he was taken into custody, Smith later told agents he was divorced and “working on a relationship with Barbara Bush,” reported Reuters .
Smith was tracked down in Manhattan by his cell phone by The Secret Service who were responding to a tip from his mother. After finding a note left in her home and a missing rifle, Smith’s mother called the police.
“I’m going to work for George W. Bush and the Pentagon. I have to slay a dragon and then Barbara Bush is mine,” read the note according to the government.
Smith was found sitting in his car with a machete, loaded gun, and container of gasoline before he was arrested.
