Bette Midler has been added to the ever-growing list of performers at the 86th Academy Awards. Although Midler was not in an Oscar-nominated film in 2013, she will perform at the ceremony for the first time in her legendary career.

“We are thrilled to have Bette perform on the Oscars for the very first time,” producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a statement. “We believe she will make our Oscar telecast an especially moving evening.”

Although the Divine Miss M is best known for her music and Broadway career, the Grammy winner does have two Oscar nomination on her resume. She’s been nominated twice for Best Actress for The Rose (1979) and For The Boys (1991). Her most recent film appearance came in the 2012 Billy Crystal comedy Parental Guidance.

Midler has sold 300 million records and won the Grammy for Best New Artist for 1972’s The Divine Miss M. Last year, she starred on Broadway in the one-woman show, I’ll Eat You Last: A Chat with Sue Mengers.

Midler is the fifth musical performer added to the show. U2, the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s Karen O., Pharrell Williams and Indira Manzel will perform the nominees for Best Original Song. It’s not known what song Midler will perform though.

The 2014 Oscars are set for March 2 and will be hosted by Ellen DeGeneres. The ceremony airs live on ABC.
