Devo guitarist, and one of the original members of the band, Bob Casale passed away on Monday at 61 years of age.
According to MTV, his brother, Gerald Casale, said Bob passed away from "conditions that lead to heart failure" in a Facebook post.
Gerald also noted that Bob "was my level-headed brother, a solid performer and talented audio engineer... He was excited about the possibility of Mark Mothersbaugh allowing Devo to play shows again."
Bob was also known by the nickname "Bob 2," because the band had two members named Bob, him and Mothersbaugh's brother, who was called "Bob 1," SPIN reports. He initially joined the band as part of its first lineup in 1973.
He was a member of Devo as they released several popular songs and albums, with their most-known hit being "Whip It," which came out in 1980. A year later Bob Casale helped produce the album The New Romantics. In 2010, he was a part of Devo as it released the reunion album Something for Everybody.
Last year Devo drummer Alan Myers passed away after struggling with cancer.
