Authorities said that a man’s body was found in the wheel well of an airplane at Virginia’s Dulles International Airport.
CNN has reported that airport officials have confirmed that the man's body was discovered Saturday afternoon inside the landing-gear wheel well of a plane parked at the suburban Washington airport.
The Associated Press notes that the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority has said the body was found by ground crew members assigned to the aircraft. The South African Airways Airbus was sitting in a remote parking area at the time.
Flight SA 207 landed at Dulles on Wednesday from Johannesburg after it made a stop in Dakar, Senegal.
The body of the man has not yet been identified and has since been turned over to the Fairfax County Medical Examiner.
Officials have not released any further information at this time and said that the investigation into what caused the man’s death is still ongoing.
The Airport is located 26 miles west of downtown Washington, D.C. It serves the Washington-Baltimore and Northern Virginia metropolitan area.
