The body of missing fashion designer Michele Savoia was found in the Hudson River on Sunday by the NYPD's Harbor Unit.

According to the New York Post, the designer went missing after a night of drinking on Thursday. His body was discovered in the water near his docked yacht at Chelsea Piers.

The New York Daily News noted that Savoia's driver Alberto Alonso said that the cops called him with the crushing news after the body was recovered around 1:30 p.m.

“I lost a good friend and a good brother today,” Alonso said.

The New York fashion designer was last seen at a nightclub around 4:00 in the morning on the last night of Fashion Week, before heading back to the houseboat where he lived. He was reported missing the next day.

The 55-year old designed suits for Hollywood’s A-list celebrities. He also worked on Broadway costumes and taught at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Savoia leaves behind a 23-year-old daughter.
