British suicide bomber, Abu Suleiman al-Britani, was killed on Thursday when he drove a truck packed with explosives through Halab prison in Aleppo, Syria.
After the explosives went off, more fighters ran into the jail and opened fire on guards with rocket launched grenades and guns.
Sky News made contact with Jabhat al Nusra group, thought to be associated to Britani, and received this response,"Lol, yes, news travels fast. The first British brother!” The contact also said that a video made by Britani will be released online soon.
The Halab prison reportedly houses 4,000 prisoners. During the attack on Thursday, 300 escaped during the fight. This operation is the first to have a British suicide bomber carry out an attack like this in Syria.
According to the Daily Record, 3 fighters that died this week were British. One fighter still has not been identified. It is also circulating that 20 Britons, mostly teenagers, were killed while fighting in Syria.
Aleppo is the largest city in Syria, and is located in the northwestern part of the country.
