A nurse at a Bronx nursing home has been arrested for the rape of a 64-year-old mute woman.

Nanic Aidasani, a 42-year-old nursing supervisor, was arrested and charged with rape after a nursing assistant caught him atop the woman around 1:00 a.m., according to The Daily News.

The woman, who has yet to be identified, was brought to New York Presbyterian Hospital for a rape kit shortly after the attack. However, as the victim is unable to speak to give communicate, the hospital had no choice but to deny the kit, stating that they would first need authorization through a court.

Accorinding to HNGN, Loida, the victim’s daughter who has asked to be only indentified by her first name said, "This is very important, this is key evidence. My mother is unable to speak, so by doing this exam, you're going to have the physical evidence of what happened."

As of this moment, time is of the essence. Rape kits are best performed within 72 hours of the incident.
