Bruce Hoy was an actor, dancer, and choreographer who worked on many Hollywood musicals. He died on Friday in Los Angeles at age 81.

Hoy had an outstanding career. He appeared in the Hollywood movies, Funny Face, Finian’s Rainbow, and The Music Man. Hoy appeared in many films with his wife, Larri Thomas. They met while shooting The Music Man, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Hoy was also the assistant choreographer on a television show called Startime. He also worked on Bye, Bye Birdie and danced in Silk Stockings.

Silk Stockings featured Fred Astaire and was originally produced by Arthur Freed, according to Variety. Finian’s Rainbow was shot in 1968 and was directed by Francis Ford Coppola. The Music Man was shot in 1962 and featured Robert Preston and Shirley Jones. It was directed by Morton DaCosta. Funny Face was shot in 1957, and it features Audrey Hepburn and Fred Astaire. It was directed by Stanley Donen.

Hoy is survived by his daughters, Amy and Elizabeth. A celebration of the lives of Hoy and Thomas will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday at Sportsmen's Lodge in Studio City.
