The music search application, Shazam, set a new record for uses during the Super Bowl. The application was used over 700,000 times. The top searches included Bruno Mars and U2.
This was almost double the uses from last year's Super Bowl which featured Beyonce and a reunion with Destiny's Child during halftime, Billboard reported.
The Super Bowl was filled with a lot of music centered advertising but almost half of the traffic to the application was during the halftime performance which featured Bruno Mars and a guest appearance by the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
The application was able to recognize every ad that was shown during the big game, Mobile Marketing Magazine reported. This allowed fans to watch the commercials again and socially share them. Only a few ads offered additional content with the application.
Coming in third place in searches on the application was the advertisement from Chevrolet. The ad was called "Life" and featured featured "Don't Leave" by Ane Brun. In fourth place was the Jaguar ad that featured some of the biggest talent that Britain has to offer, including Tom Hiddleston, Ben Kingsley and Mark Strong.
