A Northern California company has recalled 8.7 million pounds of meat. The meat was recalled after it was processed from diseased animals that did not undergo a full federal inspection.

According to AssociatedPress the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service said Saturday that without the full inspection, the recalled products are unfit for human consumption. So far no illnesses have been reported in connection with the recalled meat. At this point they are unsure exactly which restaurants, stores, and markets if any received the meat.

The meat was shipped from Rancho Feeding Corporation to distribution centers and stores in California, Florida, Illinois and Texas. The recalled meat products included beef carcasses and various parts such as heads, cheeks, lips, livers, feet and tongue.

Last month the same company recalled 40,000 pounds of meat for also failing to be inspected properly. According to cnn there was no answer when CNN attempted to call the number listed for Rancho Feeding Corp.
