During a Jan. 23 bankruptcy deposition, Casey Anthony maintained that her daughter’s babysitter, known as “Zanny the Nanny,” does exist. A transcript of the deposition was filed on Tuesday.
According to News 13, the infamous Anthony claimed that Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez, the baby sitter she said kidnapped Caylee, is a real person that she met through a friend at Universal Orlando.
The problem with that story is during her murder trial, her attorney Jose Baez told jurors that Anthony made up the story about the nanny, the Associated Press noted.
There was in fact a real person out there named Zenaida Gonzalez, however, she was not the one Anthony was referring to because the two had never even met.
Gonzalez said that just a name attachment to the 27-year-old was enough to damage her reputation and she is suing Anthony for defamation.
It doesn’t seem likely that Anthony’s words will carry much weight though, while she was acquitted of murdering her daughter in 2011, she was convicted of lying to investigators.
