CBS Films is staying in business with Jon Turteltaub, the director of the studio’s 2013 all-star comedy Last Vegas. Turteltaub has been hired to direct The Lady in the Locker Room.

The book that provides the basis for the film was written by female sports journalist Susan Fornoff. She was one of the first female sports journalists to work for major publications and she wrote about her struggle to gain access to locker rooms during the 1980s, notes Variety.

Turteltaub is also signed to co-produce with Karim Zreik (Common Law). Joel Silverman (Full Court Miracle) penned the screenplay and pitched the story to CBS Films.

CBS Films and Turteltaub had some success with Last Vegas last year. The film starred Michael Douglas, Morgan Freeman and Robert De Niro. It grossed $131 million worldwide, notes The Hollywood Reporter.

The director has a knack for taking on sports stories, having also made Cool Runnings and The Kid. Those were both Disney projects and he also worked with that studio on the National Treasure films and The Sorcerer’s Apprentice.
