Christoph Waltz has been added as another presenter at the 86th Academy Awards, meaning that all four winners in last year’s acting class will return.
Ceremony producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron confirmed the news today. Waltz is the fourth presenter added, as Anne Hathaway, Daniel Day-Lewis and Jennifer Lawrence have already agreed to return.
Waltz is in rare company as one of the few actors to not only win two acting Oscars, but winning for roles in movies by the same director. The German star shot to international acclaim with his villainous performance in Quentin Tarantino’s Inglorious Basterds in 2009, which won him his first Best Supporting Actor Oscar. Although he had a larger role in Tarantino’s next film, Django Unchained, he was still nominated in the same category and surprisingly beat out Silver Linings Playbook star Robert De Niro for the statue.
Waltz has also appeared in Water for Elephants and Carnage. His next films include Horrible Bosses 2 and Warner Bros.’ Tarzan movie.
He will likely present the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress this year. It is Oscar tradition for the previous class of acting winners to present the acting awards at the current ceremony.
The Oscars are on March 2 on ABC, with Ellen DeGeneres hosting.
