Coldplay premiered their new song, “Midnight,” on their official website.

“Midnight” is the first single off of Coldplay’s new album. It will be their sixth studio album. According to MTV, the song is accompanied by a video that is directed by Mary Wigmore. The new video has was posted on the band’s official website at midnight, according to The Guardian.

Coldplay are a British rock band formed by vocalist Chris Martin and guitarist Jonny Buckland. Their first studio album was Parachutes in 2000. More recent work has included Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friendsin 2008 and Mylo Xyloto in 2011. Coldplay has won eight Brit awards, including three wins for Best British Group. They have taken home seven Grammy Awards. Coldplay has sold over 60 million records worldwide.

Coldplay had some crossover success with their new song, “Atlas,” for the Hunger Games: Catching Fire soundtrack. Coldplay will be performing in this year’s South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas.

The sixth album will be released later this year, in May or June.
