New Jersey officials have deemed the Atlantic County Criminal Courthouse and nearby schools to be safe after receiving several bomb threats on Tuesday.
According to WPVI, the courthouse and the Hess school were evacuated after police got word of the bomb threats via telephone.
Tuesday morning someone called Hamilton Township Police and said that a bomb had been placed at the courthouse as a way to get revenge on a particular judge. The caller then said the Hess school would be the next target, but gave no indication of why.
The courthouse was safely evacuated and students were transported from Hess to another school while they waited for their parents to pick them up.
The Press of Atlantic City reported that while multiple agencies were assisting with evacuations and clearing the areas, a call came in threatening the Shaner School as well. That school was then also was evacuated.
Bomb-sniffing dogs were brought in to search the buildings but did not find anything.
The investigation is still ongoing at this time.
