Dakota Johnson, who will be playing Anastasia Steele in the highly-anticipated Fifty Shades of Grey films, is opening up about filming in the March issue of Vanity Fair.

Filming is well underway in Vancouver and Johnson said she prepared by reading the book.

“A lot of getting into the character's head, in Ana's headspace before she meets Christian, so it's a lot of reading, which I love," she told Vanity Fair. "She's an English major, so that's kinda boring."

Johnson, who stars opposite Jamie Dornan as Christian Grey, also called filming a “very smooth and fun and creative experience,” MTV News reports.

"I think going into something like this, you kind of have fears of what it could be like and none of those fears are happening. We all get along really well and the crew's amazing. We're just all trying to make this project the best it can be,” she added.

As we previously reported, Johnson also recently did an interview with Elle and talked about the racy sex scenes. She said “I don’t have any problem doing anything. The secret is I have no shame."

The lead part of Christian Grey originally went to Sons of Anarchy star, Charlie Hunnam, but he dropped out of the film before production started. Dornan is a former Calvin Klein model and reportedly has great chemistry with Johnson.

Fifty Shades of Grey will hit theaters exactly one year from today; Feb. 13, 2015.
