Jared Leto, who is widely expected to take home the Best Supporting Actor Oscar for his acclaimed performance in Dallas Buyers Club, has revealed his date for the Oscars on Sunday. The 30 Seconds to Mars frontman is taking his mother.
Earlier this week, Leto shared a screenshot of his FaceTime conversation with his mom, Constance, and his brother, Shannon. Needless to say, Constance was super excited, as the picture shows. “My mothers face when @shannonleto and I told her she was coming to the #Oscars with us! :),” Leto captioned it.
Leto has been everywhere this awards season, picking up new statues at nearly every ceremony. He previously took his mother to the Screen Actors Guild Awards last month, notes E! News.
The actor, who returned to films for Dallas Buyers Club after a long absence, is the frontrunner for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar, thanks to his role as a transgender man. His co-star, Matthew McConaughey, is a strong contender for Best Actor. Both of them won SAG Awards for their performances.
The other nominees in the category are Jonah Hill (The Wolf of Wall Street); Barkhad Abdi (Captain Phillips); Michael Fassbender (12 Years A Slave); and Bradley Cooper (American Hustle).
See if Leto can make his mom even happier at the Oscars on Sunday on ABC. Ellen DeGeneres is hosting.
