A new poll says that most Democrats really want former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to run for president in 2016.
The poll, conducted by the New York Times and CBS News and released on Wednesday, found that an incredible 84 percent of the Democrats polled want clinton to run, reports The New York Daily News. Only 13 percent said they did not want the former First Lady and New York Senator to run.
Vice President Joe Biden was in a distant second place, with 42 percent of Democrats hoping to see him run, notes MSNBC. On the other side, 39 percent said they didn’t want him to run.
Clinton’s popularity among independents was much less overwhelming, although 52 percent of independents want her to run.
Like clinton, Biden has not said anything firm about running in 2016. Biden has joked about it though several times.
On the Republican side, it is less clear who they want to see run for the GOP. Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush came out on top with 41 percent supporting him. Thirty-nine percent want to see Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul run.
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who was expected to be the frontrunner, only had 31 percent support.
The Times and CBS News poll was conducted with 1,644 voters.
