Disclosure has made a splash, nominated for four BRIT Awards this year. They made a strong showing at the ceremony yesterday, but walked away without any awards.

Disclosure is an electronic music duo, consisting of Guy and Howard Lawrence. The Lawrence brothers grew up in Reigate, Surrey. Their first album, released in 2013, made a splash with its pop/ electronica sounds. They have a number of remixes and singles including “You and Me” and “White Noise” (featuring AlunaGeorge). The band won Best Dance/ Electronica Album this year at the 2014 Grammy Awards.

The BRIT Awards are similar to the Grammys. Some of the music industry’s most popular artists were honored this year. Artists with nominations included Drake, Eminem, Bruno Mars, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis and Arcade Fire, according to the Associated Press. David Bowie was named best male artist of the year. Bruno Mars won the award for international male solo artist of the year, according to the Daily Mail.

The awardees for Best Video were decided during yesterday’s broadcast. Winners are chosen for The BRIT Awards by fans and by about 1,000 music industry voters.
