Dolly Parton has signed on with APA. With the new agency, the popular country singer will continue forward with upcoming projects, including a world tour.
Parton is a client of former The Agency Group exec Steve Martin. Martin joined APA as executive VP of worldwide music in December, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Parton’s newest project is Blue Smoke. The album will be released in May on Sony Masterworks. She has recently played some concerts in the United States, and Parton’s world tour begins on Feb. 7 and will include stops in Australia, the United States, and Europe. It’s unclear if Parton will be singing “Island in the Stream” or one of the other 26 number one songs that made her famous. According to Billboard, her last album was 2011’s Better Day.
Withstanding the test of time, Parton is also known for her work in the films 9 to 5 and Steel Magnolias. A favorite in the country music scene, Parton and her family opened the popular theme park, Dollywood, located in Tennessee. Each year, it draws more than 4.5 million annual visitors.
