Free-agent Ed Reed had $50,000 stolen from the front seat of his car in Houston on Wednesday.

According to ESPN, Reed told police that he withdrew $50,000 from one bank and then drove to another bank. He left the bag of cash in the front seat of his gray Audi and when he returned the passenger window was smashed and the bag was gone.

NBC Sports has reported that the Houston Police believe the safety may have been followed to the second bank after being seen making the transaction at the first.

Many are questioning why the 35-year-old left such a large amount of cash in the passenger seat of his car to begin with.

The nine-time Pro Bowler spent 10 seasons with the Baltimore Ravens and won one Super Bowl.

Last season, Reed played in seven games for the Houston Texans before being shipped to the New York Jets.

Police are still investigating the situation and looking for a suspect.
