Country singer Eric Church is enjoying success with his current album, The Outsiders.

Fans are purchasing the new album quickly. According to Reuters, Church climbed to the top of the charts with the best opening sales week of the year. The new album sold 288,000 copies last week, according to the figures compiled by Nielsen SoundScan.

The Outsiders is the latest effort from the country music singer. His music has been described as country rock or outlaw country. He has previously won the CMA Album of the Year for Chief. He also won the ACM Award for Vocal Event of the Year for the song, “The Only Way I Know” (with Jason Aldean & Luke Bryan). He was nominated for the Top Country Song for “Springsteen” at the Billboard Music Awards.

Church’s first album, Sinners Like Me was released in 2006. He followed it up with Carolina. Church also released a live album, Caught in the Act: Live. It debuted at number five on the charts, according to Billboard.
