Ewan McGregor has joined the cast of the upcoming indie film project, Last Days in the Desert. McGregor will be staring along side Tye Sheridan, who was last seen in Mud.

Rodrigo Garcia will be directing Last Days in the Desert and has already written the script himself, Variety reported.

Garcia is known for his work on films such as, Albert Nobbs, In Treatment and Mother And Child.

McGregor will be playing the role of a holy man who has a demon side that is on a journey through the desert. This man encounters a family who is on the edge of poverty and is struggling to survive. This encounter with this unique family forces this man to confront his own personal fate of both holy and demon side.

Ciarin Hinds and Ayelet Zurer are also signed on to star in the film, Indie Wire reported.

Julie Lynn and Bonnie Curtis will be producing the film for Mockingbird Pictures.

McGregor can currently be seen in August: Osage County and just wrapped production on Mortdecai which stars Johnny Depp.
