Family of four among six killed in wrong way crash

A family of four and two other people were killed in a crash after a driver drove the wrong way on a Los Angeles County freeway.

According to NBC 4, the suspected driver, Olivia Culbreath faces criminal charges for the crash while allegedly under the influence.

The California Highway Patrol responded to a crash early Sunday morning on the 60 Freeway in Diamond Bar.

The Daily Mail has reported that the 21-year-old Culbreath was allegedly going more than 100 mph when she hit two cars, one with a family of four inside and another carrying two passengers. She has since been charged with six counts of vehicular manslaughter and felony driving under the influence.

Two of the victims died while being transported to a nearby hospital.

Culbreath herself was injured in the accident. She suffered a broken spleen and a ruptured bladder, but is listed in stable condition.

“Not only are the parties who are involved affected by this, but the family members of the parties,” said CHP Officer Rodrigo Jimenez. “As an emergency personnel, this is something that we never want to see. We train for this but never actually have to want to use that training.”
