The cast and crew of Fast & Furious 7 will reportedly be back at work in April. Universal had stopped production on the film after star Paul Walker’s death in November.

Sources for The Hollywood Reporter said that Universal is comfortable enough to start production again on April 1. Filming will take place in Atlanta and it should take six to eight weeks to complete the production.

Universal officially put production on hold in early December, although filming had stopped around the Thanksgiving break. Walker had gone to Valencia, Calif. for a charity event, but was killed in a car crash while there.

The studio had initially hoped to release Fast 7 this year to capitalize on the success of last year’s Fast 6, but the film obviously was not going to make that date. Star Vin Diesel and Universal now have scheduled the film for April 10, 2015.

It’s not entirely clear how much footage with Walker will end up in the final film. It was reported last month that his character will be “retired” and not killed off.

Fast 7 is being directed by James Wan.
