Newly popular iPhone game, “Flappy Bird”, will be taken off of the iPhone app store tomorrow.
It will no longer be available for download after Sunday, due to the decision of developer, Dong Nguyen.
Flappy Bird is a breakthrough iPhone game that is most likely responsible for a lot of player’s frustration and anger. The infuriating game reached the top of the charts of the Apple App Store and Google Play. To play, users must tap the screen and direct the bird up and down as it flies to the right—but be careful NOT to fly into the green tubes. By flying into the tubes that resemble Mario Nintendo games, you lose.
The goal is to reach the highest score possible, but the difficulty is extreme. Although it's terribly hard, it has players hooked and even obsessed with trying to beat their personal score.
According to The Verge, Flappy Bird makes around $50 thousand per day.
In a series of shocking tweets, Nguyen stated, “I am sorry ‘Flappy Bird’ users, 22 hours from now, I will take ‘Flappy Bird’ down. I cannot take this anymore,” according to the LA Times
It’s unknown exactly why this game will come to an end, but rumors surfaced insinuating that Nguyen used fake accounts to boost ratings.
If you want to test your patience with this game, download it before it gets officially taken down.
