Another pilot season and another gig for Paget Brewster. Since leaving Criminal Minds, the actress has tried to return to comedies and, while she did make an appearance on Community recently, she has signed on for another pilot. This one is called St. Francis and already stars former Sopranos actor Michael Imperioli.

Imperioli joined the pilot last week. He stars as a Long Island police officer whose life is turned upside down after learning that his sister is pregnant out of wedlock. According to Deadline, Brewster will star as Imperioli’s wife, who is about to turn 40 and supports his sister. The sister role has not been cast.

St. Francis was written by Chris Moynihan.

Brewster recently returned to Criminal Minds for the show’s 200th episode. She left the show as a regular cast member after its seventh season. During the previous pilot season, she was cast in an ABC comedy called Spy, a remake of the acclaimed U.K. comedy. That would have seen her paired with Rob Corddry, but the project was not picked up by the network.
