A former Fox 5 reporter was convicted Thursday, February 21 for the sexual assault of a child.

Charles Leaf, 43, was found guilty of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old girl in his Wyckoff, New Jersey home in 2010, according to My Fox New York. He was also found guilty of child endangerment, possession of child pornography, and tampering with evidence.

Leaf was initially taken into custody in October 2010 after the victim told her nanny that she’d been touched in a sexual manner. However, just last month, the victim, now 8-years-old, claimed she lied and had been told to do so by her nanny.

Leaf has continually maintained his innocence.

During the trial, Leaf’s father-in-law flew in from Poland to claim the child pornography on Leaf’s computer belonged him, according to The New York Daily News.

Leaf’s elder sister, Susan Gaudet, however, believes that her brother is guilty and the victim was “schooled” on how to recant her story.

Leaf could face up to 20 years in prison when he is sentenced June 6, 2014.
