Grace Gummer, known for her work on the HBO series, The Newsroom, is set to play a role in the new series, Extant.
Extant is the story of an astronaut who returns home and attempts to reconnect with her family. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Gummer will play Julie, one of the people involved in building robot prototypes. Gummer will be featured opposite of Goran Visnjic, who is playing John in the series.
Other than Visnjic, Gummer will be share the small screen with the celebrities already on board with the project,including actress Halle Berry, Camryn Manheim, and Hiroyuki Sanada.
Grace Gummer is known for her portrayal of Hallie Shea on The Newsroom. Visnjic is best known for his role as Dr. Luka Kovac in the television series, ER. He has also been featured in the K-11 and The Counselor. Gummer has also been in The House of Spirits, Larry Crowne, Margin Call, and Frances Ha. She has been seen on the small screen in Gigantic, Smash, and Paloma.
Extant will air in the summer of 2014. It is a CBS production with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment.
