The heavy metal band, Guns N’ Roses, will perform at this year’s Golden Gods Awards.
Axl Rose will receive the Ronnie James Dio Lifetime Achievement Award. The lead singer started playing with Guns N’ Roses in 1986. Rose was the frontman of the popular heavy metal group. The band was originally signed to Geffen Records. Over the years, they created many memorable songs including “Welcome to the Jungle.” Their albums included Appetite for Destruction, G N R Lies, and Chinese Democracy.
Many will be honored at the ceremony. Joan Jett will be given with the Golden God Award, for an artist “embodies the spirit of hard rock and metal,” according to the Associated Press. She's the first female to earn the award.
According to Revolver Magazine, awards will be given in 12 categories including Best Vocalist, Best Drummer, Most Metal Athlete, Best Film & Video, and Comeback of the Year. Voting in all categories is open and will close on April 4.
The Golden Gods Awards will take place on April 23 at Club Nokia in Los Angeles.
