Heavy rains hit California Friday causing mudslides and power issues.
The state, which was previously facing a long drought, was hit with the Pacific storm in the early morning and throughout the day. According to the Associated Press, the storm has caused up to six inches of water in certain areas, but has not had a major effect on the drought overall.
California is in a drought throughout almost 95 percent of the state, according to the most recent U.S. Drought Monitor reports.
About 1,200 homes in the Glendora area have been evacuated due to fear of small debris getting caught in the heavy wins. At this time, however, no damage has been reported.
USA Today reports that the storm may be the most rain California has dealt with in the last two years.
Through the beginning of next week, this Pacific storm is expected to travel across the country. In some areas, the storm may even turn into ice and snow.
