Everything former secretary of State Hillary Clinton does is under a microscope and that includes her tweets. During the Super Bowl last night, Clinton sent a joking tweet that seemed to refer to the way Fox News covers her.
The message read, “It’s so much more fun to watch FOX when it’s someone else being blitzed & sacked! #SuperBowl.”
It was not immediately clear what she was referring to. Was it the Seattle Seahawks’ complete domination over the Denver Broncos? Or was it President Barack Obama’s interview with Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly?
Fox News has been critical of the way Clinton and the Obama administration handled the Benghazi attack on a U.S. mission there, which lead to the deaths of three Americans in September 2012. The Senate Intelligence Committee did blame the State Department for not increasing security there in a report last month.
In a statement to CNN, Clinton spokesman Nick Merrill said that the tweet was “100% humor.” He also told USA Today, “It was good-natured, light-hearted, and self-deprecating.”
