The first ever iHeartRadio awards will be televised on May 1.
The Wrap reports that the first ever iHeartRadio awards will air May 1, on NBC, from 8 to 11 p.m. The ceremony will take place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
The ceremony will feature celebrity appearances and performances. Awards will be based on performance on the iHeartRadio chart through airplay monitoring.
There will be 13 categories with 10 nominees each and feature a variety of genres. The nominees will be narrowed down to 5 in each category after the public votes online via Facebook and Twitter. The final nominees will be announced March 26 at the iHeartRadio theater in Los Angeles.
The New York Times reports that iHeartRadio started as an online music streaming website. It the started hosting live events and festivals in Las Vegas.
The first ever iHeartRadio Country Festival will take place next month and feature artists like Carrie Underwood, Eric Church, and Luke Bryan.
