Jennifer Aniston is hoping to build on the success of We’re The Millers by taking a role in a drama. The former Friends star has agreed to appear in the indie project Cake.

The movie is part of a five-picture deal between China’s Shenghua Entertainment and After Dark Films of the U.S., under their Cinelou Films banner. It is being produced by Courtney Solomon, who directed Getaway and An American Haunting, reports The Hollywood Reporter. The production is being sold by WME Global at the European Film Market in Berlin.

According to Deadline, the Cinelou deal includes five movies that will cost a total of $50 million to produce. Cake will cost between $7 million and $10 million to make.

“Our goal is to find great material and great talent and let them do what they do best and Shenghua has proven a great partner to make that happen,” Solomon said.

Cake will be directed by Daniel Barnz from a script by Patrick Tobin. Aniston will play a woman who follows up on the suicide of a fellow member of her support group.

Aniston was last seen in the surprise Warner Bros. comedy hit We’re The Millers. She’s currently working on a sequel to Horrible Bosses.
