Jill Scott will be joining Team Usher on this season of the Voice as a guest mentor and is keeping a very busy schedule with her additional upcoming projects.

Scott joins fellow mentors Miranda Lambert, The Band Perry and Aloe Blacc, Extra reported.

This is not the only job that Scott has been focusing on she is also staring in the upcoming James Brown film and is working on recording a new album.

Scott has been seen on Broadway and is a Grammy winning musician, so she felt that her skill set and talent could be of service to Team Usher, Billboard.

"It's a show I watch and enjoy because singers are really being given an opportunity to sing," she explains. "It's not all about the look or the visual. It's really about the tone of the voice, the passion that lives inside of it," said Scott.

While working on NBC's hit reality singing competition she is also co-starring along side Chadwick Boseman, who will be playing Brown, in the upcoming feature film. Boseman is known for his work in 42.

For Scott this wasn't a character study and was a role that she wanted to take on. "I looked at the film as a mosaic with the most important part being her still unbridled love and adoration for this huge personality and talent," said Scott.

The Voice will be returning with two hours of bind auditions six days from today.
