Seth Rogen's Neighbors will have its world premiere and the André Benjamin led film All Is by My Side about Jimi Hendrix, will make its U.S. debut at the upcoming South by Southwest Film Festival.
The Hendrix biopic, which had its world premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, was written and directed by 12 Years a Slave writer John Ridley. It stars OutKast frontman André "3000" Benjamin as the iconic musician. Benjamin's previous acting credits include the Will Ferrell comedy Semi-Pro and TV drama The Shield.
Neighbors stars Seth Rogen as a family man who moves next door to a fraternity, led by Zac Efron. It is directed by Get Him to the Greek's Nicholas Stoller, who worked with Rogen on the TV series Undeclared. Stoller told Collider "I’ve wanted to work with Seth forever since then."
According to Billboard, All Is by My Side will be among thirteen other music centric films premiering at the festival, including documentaries on Johnny Winter and A$AP Rocky.
For the first time the festival will feature an "Episodic" category that will feature new shows from HBO, Showtime, and AMC.
SXSW will take place in Austin, TX, March 7-16.
