Kanye West announced that the movie, Yeezus, will play in select theaters.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film was directed by Hype Williams. The trailer for Yeezus was released online. This isn’t the first time the popular singer has worked with Hype Williams. They collaborated on music videos for Yeezy, including “Stronger” and “Gold Digger,” according to the Daily News.
No word from the website if the film follows the drama of the Yeezus tour being postponed due to a truck accident. According to Billboard, a 60-foot LED screen was greatly damaged on the road. The tour was postponed, and then continued through the end of the year.
Yeezus was nominated for Best Rap Album in 2014. In 2013, West won a Grammy for Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song.
The film, Yeezus, is set to play in select theaters. No release date has been announced. For fans who miss the movie, West will be performing live at the Bonnaroo Festival in Manchester, Tennessee this June.
