Hip-hop mega star Kanye West took to twitter Monday to thank his fans and remember his endeavor to release his now classic debut album, The College Dropout.

West called the albm his "life's work up to that point" and said it was a "constant struggle" to convince the music community and fans that he deserved a shot. He also promised he hasn't changed over the decade, saying, "Ten years later I am still the same kid from Chicago, still dreaming out loud, still banging on the door."

West thanked his fans for their support and assured them he is still committed to "give something back to you that you can rock to and be proud of."

The album earned critical acclaim and won a Grammy for Best Rap Album, as well as Best Rap Song for the single "Jesus Walks" in 2005. West was also nominated for 8 other awards that year. Rolling Stone placed the album at number 19 on their list of the best debut albums and number 298 on the greatest albums of all time, where the magazine said that Kanye "broke boundaries others wouldn't acknowledge."
