Actors Kate Mara and Michael B. Jordan wasted no time in responding to the news that they have been cast in Fox’s Fantastic Four reboot. Although the studio hasn’t commented, both stars used social media to confirm their involvement.
As previously reported, Jordan, who has been linked to the project for months, was cast as Johnny Storm, also known as the Human Torch. Mara will play his brother, Sue Storm or The Invisible Woman. Jamie Bell has been cast as Ben Grimm/The Thing and Miles Teller is Reed Richards/Mr. Fantastic.
Mara, who currently stars in Netflix’s House of Cards, told her fans on Twitter that she’s “feeling invisible... in a wonderful way.” She added the hashtag “#FantasticFour.”
As for Jordan, he used Instagram to share a picture of the iconic “4” logo used by the Marvel comics team. He captioned it, “FLAME ON!”
While Bell and Teller both have verified Twitter accounts, they haven’t commented on the casting news.
The Fantastic Four reboot will be directed by Josh Trank, who worked with Jordan on Chronicle. It is currently scheduled for a June 16, 2015 release.
Marvel Comics publishes the Fantastic Four and Fox has the film rights to the iconic comic characters.
