With the release of her newest video for “Dark Horse,” Egyptian historians are saying that Katy Perry’s video is actually pretty accurate.

After releasing the video this past week, the four-minute film has already reached almost 400,000 views.

In an interview with MTV.com, the director of the University of Arizona Egyptian Expedition, Pearce Paul Creasman, said that with Perry’s perception of ancient Egypt, he expects an influx of egyptology classes this year.

“While there is clearly an amalgamation of other cultures and Egyptomania at play in the video, Perry’s modern take on ancient Egypt is refreshing,” he said.

Creasman dissected the video for MTV, showing which scenes were true to Egyptian myth and culture – but it definitely was not the Viking ship in the beginning.

Some things that Perry got right was the vibrant pink temple, the blue servants, growing wings and climbing to the top of the pyramid at the end (portraying the king rising to the heavens to join the gods) and the vast use of cats – a favorite of the ancient pharaohs and Perry, herself.

The historian also gave a shout out to Perry for her clever use of Twinkies to construct a pyramid saying, “Given they both last forever.”
