Katy Perry’s music video, “Dark Horse”, has been edited after a petition was signed by thousands to remove a pendant containing the word “Allah”.

According to Rolling Stone, over 65,000 people in protest of the “highly controversial” clip signed a petition on Change.org.

U.K. resident, Shazad Iqbal, who started the petition, claimed at the 1:15 mark in the video, a man wearing the pendant is burned.

"Such goes to show, that blasphemy is clearly conveyed in the video, since Katy Perry (who appears to be representing an opposition of God) engulfs the believer and the word God in flames," the petition said. By signing the petition people were agreeing that the clip was “considered inappropriate by any religion.”

Yesterday, Feb. 26, the Katy Perry video edited out the pendent in compliance with the protest, according to E! News.

“Guys I’m thrilled to let you all know the name of Allah has been removed from the “Dark Horse” video,” Iqbal said. “We couldn’t have done it without everyone’s support, so I thank each and every one of you deeply.”

The video starring the 29-year-old singer premiered on Feb. 20.
