An Ohio woman was mauled to death by her neighbor’s two Bullmastiff dogs.
According to the Associated Press, Klonda Richey, who was known as a cat-lover, was found unclothed in front of her home Friday after being fatally mauled by the neighborhood dogs.
The Daily Mail reported that police records showed that the 57-year-old Richey complained about the canines six times before her death.
Nursing graduate Julie Custer, the registered owner of the dogs and Andrew Nason have been taken into custody and are being held on a reckless homicide charge.
Richey owned 22 cats, none of which were harmed.
“It's so ironic that this devout animal lover would be killed by animals in such a brutal aggressive way,” colleague Ann Stevens said.
Bullmastiffs are large domestic dogs that have bloodlines drawn from the English Mastiff and Old English Bulldog. The breeds are known to be very quiet and rarely even bark. The two in this case have since been put down.
