There has recently been a lot of hype surrounding the news reportedly stated that Lebron James will star in Space Jam 2. However, reps are now denying that he will be part of the film.

Deadline.com had announced on Friday that there was going to be a sequel to Space Jam and James would star in the lead role, reports The Huffington Post. They said they had confirmed the film with Warner Bros and it was specifically being written for James.

Sources then took to Twitter the next day to say that there was no plan for the film and the Miami Heat player’s role in it was just a rumor. Reps reportedly denied his involvement to Brian Windhorst.

A source also told USA Today that James had never been asked to star in the film.

The original Space Jam starring Chicago Bulls superstar Michael Jordan made $230 million worldwide and became one of the most recognizable films of the ‘90s.

So, with or without Lebron James, what do fans think? Excited about a Space Jam 2 or let the legacy of the original live on without a sequel?
