Lil' Wayne's upcoming album, Tha Carter V might be getting an official release date.
At a recent Drake concert, Lil' Wayne was brought on stage and it was announced that his next album would be released on May 5th, Billboard reported.
Drake and Lil' Wayne are on the same label, Cash Money Records. The statement about his upcoming album happened during Drake's performance which was a part of the kickoff festivities for the NBA All-Star game that is to be held in New Orleans Sunday Night.
Young Money VP of promotion Mel Smith spoke about the upcoming album and said that it was near completion and that the album would be dropping soon but that Lil' Wayne didn't want to announce the release date just yet, MTV reported.
If this release date is true it will mark nearly three years after the double-platinum Carter IV was released by Lil' Wayne. The album went to number one on the Billboard charts.
