Joseph Jackson, 41, is suing digital strategy firm Open Communications in Manhattan after suffering months of sexual harassment from female supervisors.
Jackson was fired February 21st, after formally complaining three times to John Morris, CEO of Open Communications, of sexual harassment. He also claims that Morris witnessed the inappropriate behavior, but refused to intervene.
The lawsuit. is directed at supervisors Sally O’Dowd (45) and Katie Campisano (25). O’Dowd, co-founder of the company, allegedly wrapped herself around him multiple times at her company birthday party in August, though Jackson refused to return any embrace, according to NY Daily News. She then went on to whispering physical appraisals to Jackson, while kissing his neck. Jackson described leaving the party “distraught.” He continues to state multiple incidents of unwanted physical contact by O’Dowd.
Simultaneously, he was receiving multiple and constant ‘sexts’ from co-worker Katie Campisano, according to Metro Newsday. One such text in November asked 'When are we going to have our bang sesh?'. On November 15, 2013 Open Communications received a new condom client, Lovability. After testing one of the condoms on a banana, Campisano reportedly said that it was “tight at the base, it probably wouldn’t fit Joseph.”
Jackson’s firing came out of the blue, as he was reportedly doing well in the company, and earning more responsibilities. Open Communications is planning on defending itself in court, but Jackson’s attorney is confident that the truth will be revealed.
