Marc Webb, who directed The Amazing Spider-Man, is attached to the comedy thriller Cold Comfort, which was just acquired by 20th Century Fox.

According to Deadline, the movie is based on the upcoming nonfiction book written by Newsday columnist and Fox News analyst Ellis Henican.

The subject of the book worked with Henican to tell his story of making himself into a spy and cooperating with the FBI in thwarting a Russian intelligence agent.
Henican's previous work includes the New York Times bestseller Home Team about the New Orleans Saints' 2010 Super Bowl victory. Cold Comfort (aka How to Catch a Russian Spy) is being published by Scribner.

Webb is also producing the film with Michael Sugar and Bard Dorros of Anonymous Content. Webb is currently heading Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man franchise.

The second installment is set to release on May 2, with Variety reporting that Webb is already attached to the third movie expected for June 2016. Crossover movies starring Spider-Man villains Venom and The Sinister Six are also planned, allowing the studio to release a film every year until at least 2018.
