Actors Miles Teller and Aaron Eckhart are attached to lead a biopic based upon world champion boxer Vinny Pazienza.

The That Awkward Moment star will play the main character of Paz, reports The Associated Press. Eckhart has been cast to play Kevin Rooney, Paz's trainer.

Verdi Productions president and CEO Chad Verdi purchased the film rights on Paz nearly five years ago.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Martin Scorsese is on board to executive produce the biopic.

The film will follow Paz as he recovers from a nasty car accident that left the boxer nearly paralyzed. Though extraordinary recovery efforts, Paz was able to return to boxing only a year after the car crash. He enlisted Kevin Rooney to help him train and recover while in the gym.

The script will be penned by Ben Younger, who will also direct the film. He wrote and directed Boiler Room and Prime.

Verdi will also produce the movie, with Younger, Bruce Cohen, Noah Kraft and Emma Tillinger Koskoff.

Teller was most recently in That Awkward Moment, which just hit theaters and Eckhart starred in the flop I, Frankenstein that came out two weekends ago.
