Mitt Romney not running for president in 2016

Another politician dispelled rumors on Wednesday that he would be joining the presidential race in 2016.

Mitt Romney told CNN’s Wolf Blitzer that he was not going to run a third time.

"The answer is no, I'm not running for president in 2016. It's time for someone else to take that responsibility and I'll be supporting our nominee," he said.

There have been some recent rumblings that the 66-year-old would run again even after he tried to close the possibilities last month telling The New York Times “Oh, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no.”

Romney is the second politician who has denied running to the network after Secretary of State John Kerry said in an interview with Jack Tapper that he would not run.

The favorite to win the GOP nomination in 2016 was assumed candidate Chris Christie, before his woes started. Lately though, some Republicans have named Romney as the clear-cut favorite. But now, that may no longer be an option.
