If you think that there are not enough music awards already, here’s one more. NBC Entertainment and Clear Channel officially announced the first iHeartRadio Music Awards, which will air live in May from Los Angeles.

The ceremony will be produced by Ryan Seacrest Productions, along with John Sykes and Tom Poleman of Clear Channel Media and Entertainment as executive producers. Ian Stewart and Hamish Hamilton of Done and Dusted Inc. are producing for NBC and Hamilton was tapped t direct.

“With a reach of more than 240 million people every month, Clear Channel has an unparalleled ability to identify and track the biggest artists and songs in the country,” John Sykes, President of Entertainment Enterprises for Clear Channel, said in a statement. “The iHeartRadio Music Awards will be the first awards show in history to reflect America’s favorite music, and which is truly powered by the people.”

The awards show promises to be another ceremony where music fans will get to see their favorite performers in one three-hour show. Like the Billboard Awards, these will be based on the popularity of tracks on a chart. Mediabase is providing airplay data for the new iHeartRadio Chart, which will provide the results for the show. In addition to radio play, the awards will also take streaming and voting on social media into account.

Clear Channel also announced iHeartRadio Countdown, a weekly show that will include the Top 20 Contemporary Hit songs on the iHeartRadio chart.

The first annual iHeartRadio Music Awards will air live on May 1 at 8 p.m. at LA’s Shrine Auditorium.
